HOMEWORK GUIDELINES BY KEY STAGE: FS2:
Homework refers to activities that students are asked to do either on their own or with their parents. Homework is to reinforce learning that has been previously taught in class and is set once a week. Every Thursday learning books are sent home outlining the practice work set for students. The practice work is submitted every Monday. Reading log and books are sent home every Thursday throughout the academic year. Only one homework task is set per day and does not exceed 30 minutes. Key Stage One: Weekend Homework is uploaded on the Parent Portal every Thursday by 2:30pm. Weekend homework (minimum 4 days set for completion) Daily Homework is set by the class teacher and is written in the student planner as and when required, to reinforce concepts taught that day. Daily Homework will not exceed 2 subjects per day and a maximum time of 20 minutes per subject. Key Stage Two: Weekend Homework is uploaded on the Parent Portal every Thursday by 2:30pm. Weekend homework (minimum 4 days set for completion) Weekend 1 & 3 - Math, Science and Arabic Weekend 2 & 4 - English, S. St and MFL Reading homework will be set at least once a week. Daily Homework is set by the class teacher and is written in the student planner as and when required, to reinforce concepts taught that day. Daily Homework will not exceed 2 subjects per day and a maximum time of 30 minutes per subject. Homework assignments for specific subjects such as Islamic, Art and ICT are included as and when it is received from the respective Subject Leader. Some of the assignments are for revision/practice purposes and hence, no due date set for submission of these tasks. Key Stage Three: Homework can take a variety of forms, including: Wri�ng tasks, note - taking and wri�ng up notes taken in lessons, reading, learning – for example: facts, vocabulary, spellings, comple�ng coursework, research, drawing or design work, preparing for discussions or presenta�ons, on line learning, answerin g ques�ons, comple�ng worksheets, revising for tests and or exams. On an average, students are expected to study as per the table below:
