Sixth Form The Sixth- Form (Key Stage 5), is Post 16 schooling during which students are prepared for their A-level examina�ons. The first year (Year 12) is AS level and the next year (Year 13) is A2 level. A/AS Levels are interna�onally benchmarked qualifica�ons providing excellent prepara�on for university educa�on. AS (Advanced Subsidiary) LEVEL: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, Economics, Accoun�ng, Applied ICT, Environmental Management, Art & Design, English, General English, Psychology, History, Sociology and Computer Science. A2 (Advanced) LEVEL: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, Economics, Accoun�ng, Art & Design, Applied ICT, Psychology, Sociology Computer Science and English. Design and Planning Curriculum is mapped out for the school from the Founda�on Stage �ll the end of Key Stage 3. The topics are designed to ensure there is clear progression of knowledge, skills and content across the school using the relevant frameworks. The curriculum maps detail the topics undertaken each half term from FS through to Year 9. Na�onal Curriculum objec�ves are incorporated into detailed Programmes of Study for Years 1 to 9, thus ensuring progression and con�nuity in topics and subjects taught. These objec�ves are broken down into weekly achievable lesson plans using relevant, differen�ated and engaging ac�vi�es. Beyond Key Stage 3, the CAIE/Edexcel qualifica�ons specify the curricular outcomes. For students considered probably Gi�ed and Talented, we also provide support through ASDAN, an alterna�ve pathway that helps provide extended tasks/challenge tasks. We also offer programs through the ADHS GATE Programs where the Probably gi�ed and talented students are given courses to do in their areas of interest. The Sixth-Form students are engaged in super- curriculum ac�vi�es to make learning more relevant to their University courses. RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitoring and Evalua�on and assessment The Head of Primary, Head of Secondary, Head of Sixth Form and Subject Leaders are responsible for overseeing and monitoring the delivery of the con�nuity and effec�veness of the curriculum through: • • monitoring of planning to ensure curriculum and key skills coverage • regular reviews of the curriculum through student discussion and open dialogue with parents and staff. All teaching staff are responsible for the planning and delivery of the curriculum on a day -to-day basis and for making cross- curricular links where appropriate. They plan collabora�vely to ensure clarity and consistency across the year. • book reviews alongside planning to ensure cross-curricular links are optimised; • observing learning and teaching to ensure progress is being made within the topics;
