SCHOOL POLICY MANUAL-2024-2025
Assessment acvies are planned for individual students or group of students to cater to the different learning needs and range of learning styles and preferences. Teachers also take into account the level of understanding and ability in relaon to a parcular topic or skill, prior learning experiences and movaon and engagement with learning to prepare differenated assessment tasks. Such assessments result in enhanced student learning and leads to providing appropriate support and intervenon str ategies. The SEN/AEN students are given individual IEPs and the assessment techniques are chosen according to individual needs of these students. Some provisions made are extended me / teacher assistance and modified assessment papers. RECORDING, REPORTING AND USING DATA Assessment data collected before, during and aer teaching and learning experiences and summave assessments is used as evidence to idenfy a student’s needs and strengths. The school based ERP, is used to record students’ assessment informaon. This recorded assessment informaon is ulized as a guide for differenated teaching and learning. This data is used to check student progress and plan suitable support strategies for the students. Progressive, supporve and diagnosc feedback is also provided. Data is collected connually, in Primary and Secondary with teachers recording evidence on ‘ I can trackers’ or Tapestry, depending on the phase. All other data both internal and external assessments ae entered on the ERP. It is the duty of the Subject Leaders to ensure that their subject departments are up to date with the data entry. Data is regularly analysed by SLs and SLT. Leaders ensure that there is adequate coverage throughout the school and that data entered is robust, through regular learning wa lks, book trawls and lesson observaons. PARENTAL COMMUNICATION Assessment results are communicated to parents on a regular basis. The parents get to know the targets of their child in key subjects during Parent Teacher Child Interacon(PTCI). The parents also get an idea about their child’s learning from the feedback given in the pupil’s notebooks. The performance of a student in a term is conveyed through a Term grade in the progress report. The term grade reflects his/her performance of the student during the term and the end of Term Exam. Parents of students who do not meet the grade requirements are contacted and briefed about strategies to improve them.
