FIRST AID POLICY This policy will summarise the arrangements and measures for the management of FIRST AID in the school. It is policy of ADHS that all members of medical staff are trained First Aiders. This training is subject to renewal and upda�ng every 3 years. In the event of a child or staff member sustained slight injury as a result of an accident, minor first aid treatment should be administered by qualified staff. First aid boxes also available with the supervisor along with labs, recep�on, playground and b uses. All accidents requiring first aid must be entered into the Emergency Care Record along with the first aid treatment given. If immediate first aid does not resolve the problem, the person concerned should refer as follows: Staff members & visitors – Refer to the accident & emergency department of the nearest hospital or call 999. Inform next of kin, working department, etc. Child – The school doctor will call 999 for an ambulance or rush them to the nearest hospital, then the medical staff will inform the child’s parents / guardians / carers and advise them of the situa�on.
