STAFF DISCIPLINE POLICY Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to maintain a professional and respectful environment conducive to teaching and learning by outlining the standards of conduct for school staff and the procedure for addressing violations. The policy applies to all staff members, including teachers, administrators, support staff and any other employees within the school. Standards of Conduct Staff members are expected to: • Demonstrate professionalism and integrity in their actions. • Respect the rights and dignity of students, colleagues, parents, and the community. • Adhere to all school policies, state laws which includes cultural considerationand professional standards. Types of Misconduct • Misconduct may include but is not limited to: • Violation of school policies or state laws which includes cultural consideration. • Unprofessional behaviour or conduct unbecoming of a staff members. • Insubordination or refusal to perform assigned duties. • Abuse or neglect of students. • Discrimination, harassment, or bullying. • Substance abuse or being under the influence of drugs/alcohol during school hours. • Unauthorised absence or excessive tardiness. • Inappropriate use of school resources. Disciplinary Procedures Repor�ng Misconduct • Misconduct can be reported by students, parents, staff members or administrators. • Reports should be made to the immediate supervisor or designated school administrator. Inves�ga�on • The school administration will conduct a prompt and thorough investigation. • The accused staff member will be given an opportunity to respond to the allegation. • Confidentiality will be maintained to the extent possible. • Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information • Exhibit punctuality and reliability in fulfilling their duties. • Engage in continuous professional development.
