7. The incident control officer shall give the emergency services an update of the current situation including as much information as possible, the following must be included (the following list is not exhaustive) a) Nature of Incident b) Details if anyone is trapped, injured or missing c) Any specific hazards 8. The incident control officer shall hand over responsibility to the emergency services as soon as they arrive and are made aware of the situation. 9. Consult with ERT members and emergency services to end the emergency and communicate this to the Emergency Communicator. (Principal/HOS) 10. Investigate the incident and prepare a report to the management and the authorities. 2.7 EMERGENCY CONTROL OFFICER 1. Collect Emergency pack from office on exiting and proceed to evacuation area. 2. Oversee the evacuation and assembly of student and staff at the assembly point. 3. Be in constant communication with the Incident Control Officer as to the location and severity of the Fire. 4. Receive confirmation from the Head Warden of the students and staff all accounted for. 5. Record the time for full and complete evacuation. 6. Manage the communication oat the assembly point. 7. Receive updates of the fire from the Incident controller 8. Communicate with the Incident Control Officer and Civil Defense as to the safety of the students and staff i.e. further evacuation/arrival of Firefighting apparatus. 9. Receive the all clear stand down from the incident controller 10. Communicate with and then dismiss the students and staff from the assembly point. 11. Convene the Health and Safety team meeting after the drill/fire to review policy and or procedure. 2.8 FIRST AID TEAM/NURSE/CLINIC 1. Collect the first aid box and stand at the designated spot (Outside the Canteen or to be determined) close to the assembly point 2. Administer first aid as required 3. Report to Emergency Control Officer any first aid actions. 2.9 IT RESPONSIBILITY 1. IT coordinator shall assess emergency and implement the continuity of the school functioning Plan. 2. Back up files is removed daily off site by Services Team. 3.0 STAND DOWN FROM DRILL 1. Once the situation is under control and deemed safe, the Incident Control Officer will advise the Emergency Control Officer (Principal/VP) that all can return to their respective classes and other staff to their place of work. Principal/HOS calls off the drill and dismisses the students and staff from the assembly point. 2. Health and Safety committee review meeting will be called as soon as practicable after the drill to review the policy and process.
