SECTION 4 STAFF POLICIES

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF TEACHING STAFF

PURPOSE: STAFF WORKING DAYS Teachers are expected to be in attendance on all working days - including those designated for instru c� on, examina � ons, sta ff development and all school a c� v i� es and programs. SCOPE: The following guiding principles apply to non-instruc � onal working � me:  The school recognizes that teachers are professionals who are accountable for comple � ng their professional responsib ili� es.  Teachers are expected to par �ci pate, as needed, in school a c� v i� es and programs which take place outside of regular school hours.  Some school and/or sta ff fun c� ons requiring sta ff a t endance will take place on Saturdays.  Shorter professional a c� v i� es (1-2 hours dura � on) such as mee � ngs and sta ff training will be scheduled after school rather than on Saturdays, whenever possible. 1. All staff are to be on campus prior to 7:10 am . Please ‘tap in’ using your staff ID card as soon as possible upon entering the campus as this is the information that dictates your attendance time not when you walk on to the campus. An attendance report is distributed to SMT with staff tap in times prior to lesson one commencing. Please ‘tap out’ when you leave the campus after 2:30 p.m . Please note it is compulsory for staff to wear their ID cards everyday whilst on campus. A Staff attendance is reported to SMT on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. 2. Please sign in/out in person with HR if you have forgotten your ID on any given day upon arrival and upon departure from school (after 2:30pm); these times will also be included in the daily attendance report. 3. All emergency/sick absence must be communicated to the relevant line manager and Head of Sec/Primary as early as possible on the morning of absence. 4. All staff must submit a leave form, clearly stating the reason for absence, to their respective Head of Sec/Primary the day proceeding an absence. All sick leave must have a medical certificate confirming the date of absence. 5. All planned requests for leave must be approved by the relevant Head Secondary/ Primary and the Principal prior to any leave commencing. All staff are required to submit the leave request form two weeks prior to the requested leave date as a minimum. Staff will receive a copy of the approved or not approved leave form prior to the requested leave commencement date. If it is deemed that insufficient notice has been given for a planned leave request that leave may not be granted. This RESPONSIBILITIES: ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
