2. Emergency Evacuaon Procedures Signal for fire evacuaon/bomb alert: A recorded message, in both ARABIC & ENGLISH will play from the speaker system. This indicates immediate evacuaon of the buildings. This is the same signal used for BOMB THREAT EVACUATION. If you spot a fire or a suspicious package: Locate your nearest Red Break Glass unit (BGU) and raise the alarm. When the EVACUATION alarm sounds, teachers, students and operaonal/administraon staff vacate their classroom or staon. √ Stay calm and have students line up for departure to designated ASSEMBLY point. √ Put on high visibility vest (if you have been allocated one) √ Close all windows and doors, if safe to do so √ Turn off lights and gas, shut off switches, if safe to do so √ Take class list and the emergency file with you √ Place “Class Clear” indicator in classroom door window √ Do not lock the door to your room or staon √ Do not use the elevators in the event of an evacuaon √ Accompany students or colleagues to the ASSEMBLY POINT quickly and quietly, but DO NOT RUN √ Once at Assembly point: Hold up GREEN page in evacuaon file if all students are accounted for, hold up RED page in evacuaon file if any students are missing or medical atenon is required √ Listen for further informaon from the supervisors. The supervisors may then direct the teachers to move his/her class to a more secured area away from the buildings. If inclement weather condions exist, then every atempt will be made to connue the evacuaon in an area that is covered and already cleared by the weep team. One alternave site might be the canteen 3 Lockdown Procedures: Teachers Principal/Designee makes this announcement: “ This is lockdown” or “ This is lockdown drill pracce ”. • Open classroom doors and quickly secure all students who are in the hallway or general vicinity • Lock classroom door from the inside and turn off all lights. Have your emergency folder in hand. Move children to the far side of the room away from window view, if possible, students should lay face down on the floor and instruct them to remain so quietly • Close all window blinds • Take attendance to ensure all students in your class are present. Note names of students you may have brought into your class at the lockdown. Keeping record of who is present with YOU is critical in an emergency

Only the Principal/MSO or designee can decide when to end an evacuaon. Staff will be told when it is safe to re-enter the building
